Spirit of Hope

Spirit of Hope has already proved a valuable asset in our relationship with International School at Sotogrande ("ISS").  ISS, a highly regarded and very progressive school here on the Costa del Sol. This academic year is the first that ISS offered the International Baccalaureate ("IB") diploma - a university prep curriculum.
ISS is building a new school complex that is scheduled to open at the start of the 2001-02 school year. It promises to be a cutting-edge facility and it will accommodate 650 students, of which 85 will live on campus as boarding students.

Spirit of Hope is a "go-anywhere" vessel built to Lloyd's Standards.  Our plan is to use her as a platform for teaching seamanship and navigation skills to the young men and women who participate in our leadership development program.  She is also suited to deliver fresh water, medical and relief supplies and personnel in response to emergencies and natural disasters, and to support of other partner agencies.

Navigation and Seamanship

We are using Spirit of Hope as the platform for conducting a navigation and seamanship program that is loosely based on the Sea Scouts program.

Leadership

We are using Spirit of Hope as a platform for conducting the leadership program for the IB students of ISS.
